Three notable articles I read this week:
Tony Kummer – Pokémon Go: What parents need to know. Tony explains how the game works and gives good advice to parents.
William Vanderbloemen – 7 common mistakes pastor search committees make. “Pastor search committees are tasked with the weighty responsibility of finding a new leader for their church. But this holy endeavor is far from easy or simple.”
Eric Geiger – 3 emails you should never send. Take note of Eric’s advice and stop sending these emails.
Three people worth following:
If you were at a loss for words after last week’s shootings, then you’re not alone. I too had trouble figuring out how to respond. This post explains what our church did. As a white pastor, I’m careful to jump to conclusions about racial issues without first listening to other people of color. Concerning issues in the African American community, the three people below are especially helpful. I listen to them. So should you.
H.B. Charles – H.B. serves as pastor-teacher at the Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida. You can connect with H.B. through his website and via Twitter.
Trillia Newbell – Trillia is the Director of Community Outreach for the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission for the Southern Baptist Convention. You can connect with Trillia at her website, as well as via Twitter or Facebook.
Derwin Gray – Derwin is the founding and lead pastor of Transformation Church, a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, mission-shaped community with two campuses in South Carolina. You can connect with Derwin at his website, on Twitter, on Facebook, and on Instagram.
