Sam Rainer
Three notable articles I read this week:
Tim Challies – What should we do with books by fallen leaders? “What do we do with material associated with a leader who has since justly been removed from his position after committing some act or pattern of disqualifying immorality? What should we do?”
Christianity Today – 5 surprising spiritual benefits of owning less stuff. “Eight years ago, my family sold, donated, or discarded over 60 percent of our possessions. My wife, children, and I removed clothes, furniture, decorations, cookware, tools, books, toys, and anything in our home that was not immediately useful or beautiful.”
Timothy George – Puritans on the Potomac. A brief, but excellent, article on the history and story of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, DC.
Three podcasts worth a listen:
Church leaders will enjoy these podcasts. I’m a regular listener to all three.
Five Leadership Questions. The format is simple: Five questions in each podcast drive the conversation about leadership. Hosted by Barnabas Piper and Todd Adkins.
Word Matters. A new podcast on the puzzling and contested passages of the Bible. Hosted by Trevin Wax and Brandon Smith. You can also follow the podcast on Twitter.
Rainer on Leadership. The granddaddy of church leadership podcasts. Hosted by “The Voice,” the one and only Jonathan Howe.
