The Atrocities of Planned Parenthood and What to Do
Sam Rainer
Today a story broke about how Planned Parenthood sells the parts of aborted unborn children. I can’t believe I’m typing these words. The mutilated parts of murdered children are being sold in an underground market by an organization that receives taxpayer funds.
How did this story break? Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Medical Services for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, was filmed in an undercover video. In it she explains how Planned Parenthood sells the parts of aborted unborn children. You can watch the video below.
I use this blog to discuss leadership issues in the church. It’s not often I comment in this way. However, this story represents one of the most significant and pressing leadership concerns today: life itself. I must write about it. I must take a stand, and so should you. The church in America must unite to save the lives of children. The kingdom of heaven is like these children, and Jesus wants to see them alive.
So what can you do?
Pray. No force will unify multiple churches, denominations, and theological persuasions like prayer. Stop right now and pray for the dignity of the unborn. God will use your prayers. We need an avalanche of prayers, sin-crushing petitions, calling on God to turn this scarlet evil white as snow.
Speak. Don’t be silent. The church must be LOUD on this issue. Now is not the time for placid conversations. Babies are murdered, thousands daily. Their body parts are being sold. We should not fear calling out the workers of Planned Parenthood for what they are: barbaric murderers. We must speak firmly, passionately, and with a resolute grit. These babies deserve our voices. They deserve dignity.
Adopt. Christians must show the world that the life of a child is valuable. Believers are adopted into the family of God. By adopting children, we reflect the character of God. Our culture becomes a brighter place with each adopted child.
Love. We should love both children and women. Abortion murders children and leaves terrible wounds on women. We must bring good news to women who have gone through abortion. We must bring good news to the abortion provider. We speak firmly, but never with hate. We cling to Truth in one hand (abortion is murder), while clinging to love in the other (God still loves you).
Forgive. No sin is too deep to escape God’s forgiveness. Not only should we share Christ’s good news, we should also forgive. Forgive Planned Parenthood. Just as God has forgiven us, so we too must forgive.
I grieve as I write. Grieve with me. Pray that God defeats this evil quickly. Speak loudly against the atrocity of abortion. Please consider adopting. And love. And forgive.
Let’s overcome a gate of hell. It looks like a Planned Parenthood entrance.
Praying. I’ve seen prayer and standing on God’s Word move what seemed like immovable mountains in my life. God can do anything when we come together in prayer. Will also pray that God moves on the heart of His people to back up their pro-life stance with adoptions. No case is too tough nor heart too hard for the Holy Spirit to reach. God bless. Really liked this message.
Absolutely. Thanks D.L.
Please don’t think me cold for this “R+” rated thought but there is an aspect I began to think about while driving around… I began thinking through (as cold as it may sound) the logistical process of this. Up until now we have had to deal with the psychological damage done to mothers giving up their child. Now we have a whole new part to this process. Consider the psychological damage that is being done to the men and women who are basically processing these children like they would a dead chicken or pig. Severing limbs and preparing them for shipment. What kind of mind can actually do this, and begin doing it repetitively to the point that is no longer an issue…
Only a depraved mind does this, and that’s why we need to be all the more diligent in sharing the gospel.
Rightly or wrongly I was immediatley reminded of Nazi experiments on humankind. Language runs out of words.
Lord knows, we do need to pray.
Thank you for your post.
Sam – I really appreciate your post and benefit from your counsel. I appreciate your heart and what you’re communicating. That being said, I think I disagree with your point on forgiveness. I agree that we should be humble and know we are not above PP – our hearts are capable of the same wickedness and, truth be told, we murder in our hearts daily. That being said, Scripture seems to communicate that forgiveness is conditional. We know that God doesn’t forgive everyone. He forgives those who repent and believe in him. Planned Parenthood has not asked for forgiveness b/c they do not acknowledge what they are doing is sin. To say that we “should forgive Planned Parenthood” seems to be contradictory to what Scripture teaches. Again, I hear your heart in this matter and realize the humility you’re communicating, but it seems to be misguided. Chris Brauns book, Unpacking Forgiveness [Crossway], was extremely helpful on this topic. Again, not trying to stir the pot but wanted a bit of clarity on this. I hope this doesn’t discourage you – thanks again for your post!
John – Thanks for your comments. I appreciate you adding your thoughts to the conversation. Personally, I believe Matthew 6:15 implies that we should live out the forgiveness we receive from God. And if we don’t forgive others, it means we don’t truly grasp the forgiveness God gives those who believe in Him.
Thank you for this article but I have a problem with his last point. I believe the complacency of my generation has resulted in the degraded situation of our country as well as the family and church crisis.
You spoke strongly about the outrage Christians should have for the murder and mutilization of human life in unborn babies then switched to forgiveness. I don’t believe there should be a blanket forgiveness without their policy being changed and this practice being eliminated. That gives them the signal that it’s OK even though they got caught. It also displays a lack of commitment on our part to the politicians. They have shown they will side with the group that is most vocal and persistent. I believe demanding action against Planned Parenthood is past due and is a righteous cause. Those involved that turn from this atrocity should be subject to our forgiveness. Organizations are not forgiven individual people are.
