10 Things I Love About My Ministry
Sam Rainer
When we walk with the Lord, the path that He leads us on is better than any path we would have found on our own. Our church is on a path – a path leading us forward in a great adventure with our God. And we have already seen God do many great things through us. While I could add more items to this list, let me share with you ten things that I have rejoiced over at my church this past year:
- Baptizing people of all ages (from children to senior adults)
- Seeing members weep over a need for even more prayer in the church
- Having a person get saved at a funeral
- Watching new teachers get excited about Sunday School
- Hitting the streets in a dark area of nation and evangelizing the lost
- People rededicating their lives to the Lord on Easter
- Ministering to those who rejoice in everything
- Hearing students give their testimony about missions before the entire church
- Partnering with a missionary from Colombia for the sake of the gospel
- Building a beautiful new coffee shop with incredible cheese danishes!
What make me happy:
1. Sunsets
2. Spring
3. Grumpies
Slash – it sounds like you have an interesting ministry…
I love your heart and attitude about ministry. Being a pastor is one of the toughest jobs in the world. You can’t survive unless you’re called by God. There are so many people in the church who have opinions about what the pastor should do, and what the church should do. I know you probably have had some tough days as a pastor, but you seemed to have learn how to rejoice in the Lord always.
Thanks kdb! As far as pastoring, we all have tough days. But I am blessed to be called to good soil.
